Target marketing is a strange phenomenon. From an advertiser's point of view, it is wonderful - they don't want to advertise to people who aren't interested. And from the consumer's point of view, it should also be wonderful - who wants to get advertising about something they've no interest in? Far better for it to be relevant to them. And yet, almost everyone I know finds it creepy when they start receiving adverts based on their recent searches. So what should be a win-win for advertisers and consumers ends up being a turn-off.
