Great thread! My mom used to sing me this song in English and was just asking about it this morning. I saw the prior poster's question about Spanish lyrics and can contribute some. A friend gave us a recording of the song, but there are no liner notes and I don't know the source. In any case, here's how it goes: Cuando abro la puerta de mi palomar, (when I open the door of my pigeon house) Mi palomar, mis pichones volando se van. (my young pigeons fly away) Ellos vuelan por montes muy lejos de aquí, (They fly by/over mountains far from here) Lejos de aquí, y en los techos se posan allí. (and perch on the roofs there) Luego más tarde vuelven a venir (Then, later they return) Les abro la puerta y se van a dormir (I open the door for them and they go to sleep) Currucu, currucu, currucu, currucu, currucu.
