No need to use paid for software for these applications. Gimp and Libre Office are both more than enough for most people's needs and both free to download.

The same is true for audio and video editing applications. Most people are aware of Audacity. For video, there is Avidemux. Originally a Linux App, it is available for both PC & Mac.

Instead of whingeing, rid yourself of software that tells you what to do and controls how you do it. Yes, there'll be a learning curve and no, it won't be perfect, nothing ever is but most creators of open source software are more responsive to comments & suggestions than most commercial software vendors.
