We (Celtic Music Radio) are a volunteer-run community radio station, based in Scotland, and broadcasting to Glasgow and the surrounding area. You can also tune in online at http://www.celticmusicradio.net/
or via tunein.com, the tunein app or our own iphone app.

We focus on traditional and contemporary Scottish/Irish/Celtic-influenced music, and also include a broad mix of folk and americana-influenced tracks.

We also tend to play a lot of local music and up-and-coming performers, rather than focussing just on the big names. We regularly have musicians and performers dropping into the studio for an on-air chat or a live session.

We also try to get "out and about", going to (and broadcasting from) community music events. For example, yesterday and today rather than doing our usual weekend afternoon shows, we got on the ferry and sailed across to the isle of Arran. We've been doing our shows live from the Arran Folk Festival, playing recorded music, interviewing the performers, chatting with the audience and broadcasting a few impromptu live sessions. Each year in January, we base ourselves at the "Celtic Connections" festival in Glasgow, and we're hoping to have a presence at Celtic Colours in Cape Breton this year.

You'll find more info on http://www.celticmusicradio.net/ and also on our facebook pages at https://www.facebook.com/celticmusicradio1530 . Many of the individual shows also have their own facebook pages, and these often play an integral part of the show, with many of the listeners participating via facebook - suggesting tracks, commenting on the music, and interacting with the presenters and guests. For example, during one of our shows ("The Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session", 5pm-7pm UK time) it's not unusual for there to be over 600 entries in the facebook chat, from listeners in Scotland, England, France, Wales, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia...

Tune in, check out our "catchup" pages where you can get a sample of most of the shows, and let us know what you like.

Bruce.
