HEY!!!!!! Tenor banjos were invented so that people could strum along ANNOYINGLY with swing bands. They're really loud...they can be fun, but... In my opinon, Earl Scruggs changed the banjo into a legitimate instrument. It's a very limited instrument to play 3-finger style, but he really pushed all of the available limits...if anyone feels open to banjos still and wants to learn more (apologies to you guys who already know this) GET RECORDINGS OF FLATT and SCRUGGS.
