This songwriting event came into being in 1992 as the "BBC
Radio Lincolnshire Write a Lincolnshire Folk Song Competition",
with input from Heritage Lincolnshire. Having taken a gap
year in 2009 the event returned, this time sponsored by
Heritage Lincolnshire, but still recorded and broadcast by the
BBC. During its lifetime the event has generated up to 500
new folk songs about our county (although it is still said we
only have one – The Lincolnshire Poacher!!!).
