For what it's worth another possibility is to find a local pub with a landlord/lady who's sympathetic to the folk cause and start a regular singaround session, say once a month. Ask the pub which are the low attendance days and they will (probably) welcome a few folkies in the pub. A separate space or room is good but it could be in the bar if it's not too noisy. This way you get to meet like minded souls and this could easily develop into a band eventually. Good luck. I liked your singing.
