OK, so few years back they came out with these cars that ran electrically, with gas powered backup, and got hugely better gas mileage. So down here (in Virginia, and other places too, as far as I know) they decided to give these hybrids special treatment, including being allowed to ride in the HOV lanes with only one person. Are you with me so far?

OK, so the state--you're gonna LOVE this!--decides that the hybrid owners are not paying their share of gas taxes *because they don't use as much* so they add a special tax on hybrids!!!

So people spend more to get a hybrid for many reasons, including the special allowances, and now they get PENALIZED for NOT PAYING THEIR "Fair" SHARE?!!! Are you fucking kidding me?
