Surely a laser vinyl player that plays through your computer must be digitising the analogue signal somewhere along the line. If you want a digitised version of the music, why not buy the CD where the analogue master tape has been professionally (probably) digitised? £5000 for a player that generates a digital output possibly indisinguishable from that from a £50 CD player does't say value to me! To me the only advantage of vinyl is the dynamic range of analogue reproduction, which is always somewhat curtailed by the digitising process. For that I will put up with the surface noise of vinyl, if the recording is good enough.
