For me I find that it's the sentimental value of certain albums. Yes, I have many Leader/Trailer/Topic/Transatlantic etc albums that are all in mint condition in poly liners and sleeves, but yes, I would part with them in a heartbeat given the proper situation. But the copy of Bert Jansch's Birthday Blues that my wife (then girlfriend)and I bought on one of our first digs around a record shop together in 1972? Sometimes it goes beyond the music.
