As for nuclear power, in spite of incidents such as Chernobyl and Fukushima it's still probably the 'least worst' option for powering our civilisation. No. It's the worst. And future generations - if there are any - are going to hate us for it. The technology exists to create effective renewable energy if we but liberated ourselves from idiot notions of centralised power production and the national grid. There'd be more electricity than we could use - and as we all know fresh surplus 'leccy makes a delicious ice cream.
