This is the tale of a man returning home (across London) after the last meeting he intends with a former lover. The man's mood is down, so he notices the gloom and melancholy of his environment and the people around him. But he is not sure if it's this or the end of his affair that causes the lowness inside. The interlude verses of the women's voice are there to reflect on what has happened in the past, his thoughts as he travels.
