What an amazing, stirring song! Seems to be a requiem for a whole way of life and a time which seems long gone, but really was just in the 20th century. And so evocative--epitomizes to my mind what "folk music" is at its best. It was a privilege to put a low bass to the chorus. The 11-month old is--temporarily--peaceful. And safe. But here he comes again.
