On the same day, Sue Coe leads an Appalachian flatfooting workshop and joins Pete at the club in the evening:

Lewes Saturday Folk Club Workshop No 185
SUE COE: APPALACHIAN FLATFOOTING DANCE WORKSHOP with live music

Saturday 16th. November 2013
10.45 a.m.- 4.45 p.m. Places £25
Royal Oak, Station Street, Lewes BN7 2DA www.lewessaturdayfolkclub.org/

Sue Coe is an Appalachian step dancer, specialising in old-style solo flat-footing. She was taught by Eileen Carson (Fiddle Puppets / Footworks) but most of all by Ira Bernstein. She has become an experienced teacher herself & holds weekly classes for all ability levels. She's been particularly successful with younger dancers. Sue also belongs to the famous Ryburn Longsword.

IN THE EVENING SUE JOINS PETE COE AT THE ELEPHANT & CASTLE
(£7; advance tickets available from address at end of this form)

Provisional Timetable

The workshop will cover style & musicality introducing basic steps then adding an extended range of steps, developing their relationships to each other and the various ways in which these can build into a solo sequence to fit the music – playing the tune with feet!

PLEASE BRING a sturdy pair of well-used (i.e. broken-in) leather-soled, hard-heeled dancing shoes for the class. Trainers would be hard work & you won't hear yourself.
PLEASE DON'T BRING TAPS.

10.45   Registration & coffee; order lunch (refreshments not included)
12.30        - 13.30 Lunch
15.00        Tea/coffee break
16.45        Finish

N.B. Booking is recommended as numbers are limited. Maps & accommodation lists on request.
