Ella Robinson Madison's sister was not married to Solomon Northup, whose story of enslavement, Twelve Years a Slave is making headlines. The newspaper article which said that Victoria was married to Solomon was mistaken. Ella Robinson Madison's sister, Victoria, was the wife of Solomon Northup's son, Elonzo Northrup. Elonzo added a letter "r" to the name. The person to contact to be put in touch with descendants of Solomon Northup is Renee Moore. She is the founder of Solomon Northup Day which is an annual celebration of Freedom in Saratoga Springs. I have spoken with Renee, and she would be happy to hear from you.
