It is a thorny problem, FloraG. Indeed should an anti-capitalist show charge an entrance fee? The answer is yes. The artists have to eat and have to travel to the show. But if Mudcat exists to disseminate information then news about concerts, clubs etc is a vital part of it. I notice that I have been shamelessly plugging my club HaverFolk on this thread so I have donated £5 (not much but we are a small club) to the Mudcat Fund. If everyone who used Mudcat for promotion coughed up a couple of quid -- or dollars -- every time, it might ease Max's situation.
