Robert Harter is listed among background singers on Buddy Holly's wonderful recording of "Rave On," recorded in January 1958 in NYC. It's interesting to learn more about him.
This was the only session Holly did with background singing that was released under his name. Usually, such songs were released as the Crickets. The distinction between Holly and the group has been lost in time, but was important then.
