My old guitar was an Ibanez copy of a Gibson. I've had it for 30 years and I could get a nice sound out of it if I worked around its faults. When I bought it the shop told me to always slacken off the strings before I got on a plane with it (I've done a lot of travelling) Turned out that was total bollocks and probably accounts for the fact that the neck looks like a ski jump. Worn frets don't help either. New guitar comes with a free service after 6 months and a recommendation to get it checked regularly.
