My grade 10 science teacher used to say "today is the day we give babies away and a half a pound of tea" and sometimes he'd say "today is the day we give chickens away and a half a pound of tea" But that's all I've ever heard of it & it's clearly stuck with me after all this time. This thread is very interesting!
