The finalists concert for the Celtic Connections "Danny Kyle Open Stage" takes place today from 4pm til 6pm (UK time) at Adelaides, Bath St, Glasgow. Please note that this event is ticketed, and is completely sold out. However, it will be broadcast live from 4.00-6.00pm on Celtic Music Radio online http://www.celticmusicradio.net , on DAB digital radio on the "PopUp Radio" channel, on 1530AM across Glasgow and on all mobile devices.

Ho Ro – From Inverness

Ho Ro are a young and energetic Scottish trad folk trio from Inverness,
bringing Scottish traditional music to you with many styles and genres to traditional Gaelic music and song together and putting thier modern stamp on it!

Griogair Morrison - From Orkney (age 16)

Young finger-style and percussive guitarist arranging, writing and composing his own tunes from funk, blues, jazz and rock and winner at the Orkney Folk Festival Open Stage 2013. He has been busy developing his youtube profile and gigging localy He sights his main influences as Andy McKee and Don Ross.
Griogair will also be performing at his own local Orkney Folk Festival in May



The Mischa Macpherson Trio – From Glasgow

Coming from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Mischa, Conal and Innes grew up surrounded by music and the Gaelic tradition. All studied at National Center of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton and came together in 2011 at the Feis Ross International Ceilidh Trail . Mischa is currently a student in Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

The Chaplins – From Paisley

Formed in 2012, all accomplished musicians in their own right when they come together with a distinctive quirky alternative and unique bluegrass sound culminating with Jill's song writing have meant that their debut EP released in 2013 has met with critical acclaim.

Arthur Nicholson – From Shetland

Arthur Nicholson has been heavily involved in the Shetland music scene from an early age. He released his first single in March 2013 and had just completed his own CD. Arthur also plays in a number of bands including First Foot Soldiers/ Muddy Bray and Deep Sea Rollers, SpootHawk and North Country Fair – to name but a few!


Austen George – From Edinburgh

Austen is a gifted young singer songwriter from who has played in several bands including his own - The Alvas in 2006 honing is craft over the years as well as seeking a solo career. Gigging extensively throughout Edinburgh and currently seeking a record deal!
Austen is also a qualified stained glass artist which lead to the quote about his songwriting ' like stained glass , his songs seem to have an ethereal quality,lyrically vivid and colourful'


Well done to them and to ALL who took to the Danny Kyle Open Stage 2014 at Celtic Connections 2014.
