GUEST,Steve Harrison Tune Req: Pretty little girl with ribbons in hair (3) RE: Tune Req: Pretty little girl with ribbons in hair 05 Mar 14

Alas, not much further info. I'm coming at this from information about the probable singers, names of Flower Dawes (mother) and Nellie Dawes (daughter) believed to be active singers in the halls in the second half of the C19th. It's been suggested that the tune for this song is (or resembles) that used for the Rochdale Coconut Dance in the 1850s, and still played by session/ ceilidh musicians under that name.
cheers
Steve
