Today is the Folk Roots/Folk Branches Holiday Special as we mark Winter Solstice, Chanukah and Christmas with songs for all of those occasions.
Among the artists we'll be hearing from are Lou & Peter Berryman, Bruce Cockburn, John Fahey, Finjan, James Gordon, Woody Guthrie, Marie-Lynn Hammond, Herdman, Hills & Mangsen, the Klezmer Conservatory Band, Laurie Lewis & Tom Rozum, Joel Mabus, David Massengill, Geoff & Clare Muldaur, Tom Paxton, Peter, Paul & Mary, John Prine, Quartette, the Pogues & Kirsty MacColl, Stan Rogers, the Short Sisters, Rosalie Sorrels, Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, Nancy White, and others.
Folk Roots/Folk Branches is normally heard on Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:30 (eastern) on CKUT, 90.3 FM in Montreal, and in RealAudio from the Folk Roots/Folk Branches website.
Since August 31, we've been extended until noon on alternate weeks. This is an alternate week, so we're on until noon.
That'll be 2-5 pm in London, England, 8-11 am in Chicago, Illinois and 6-9 am in Bolinas, California.
