Agreeing with most of the other posters: IMO, the best place to store a high-value guitar is in a hard case, closed and latched, with a humidifier or dehumidifier, as indicated by the local climate at the time of year, in a corner or somewhere where it's not likely to get knocked around or dropped. The best place to store a relatively low-value guitar that you want to have instantly available if you have a few spare minutes to play it is on the wall, high enough to be above reach of visiting toddlers or cats peeing or sharpening their claws, on a wall-mount hanger. If your spouse "vetos" that second option, then a discussion between spouses is needed as to who has veto power over what, and why. That, I can't help you with. And I doubt anyone else here can either.
