The lyrics to both of those songs contain racial slurs that fun-loving southern mountain folk at that time thought were pretty cool, but which would be considered offensive today. The lyrics to his best song, Tanner's Farm, are humorous without being offensive, and they're posted in a Mudcat thread as "Penny's Farm."
