This isn't what the OP was asking for, but I have often observed that you can sing the lyrics to "My Old Man's A Dustman" to millions of old-time American tunes. Forget a verse? Just shove in "my old man's a dustman, he wears a dustman's hat, he's wears cor-blimey trousers, & he lives in a council flat"

Ditto "House of the Rising Sun". I like to mix'n'match those lyrics, usually while playing "Old Joe Clark" or "Cumberland Gap". Good old floating verses...
