His presence will be remembered at the Wharf tonight and X Keys tomorrow by many who knew, drank and sang with him. He was 94 earlier this year. He had an endless number of stories about his war service. Principally he was at Dunkirk at the beginning and he was there at the end of the war keeping a check on the German Force that was simply left behind and ordered to stay put by the Allies as they went forward. In between he served in the Arctic Convoys. Cheers Ash.
