At the X-keys in Uppermill, last night, we had Fred Loader as the guest. Fred, Jim the organiser and everyone there all knew Archie to some degree and had many stories to tell about Archie. Jim did a couple of songs Archie would always ask for. There was much laughter and general mickey taking of the kind Archie used be an enthusiastic partaker of. There were particular memories of his 80th birthday party concert organised (2000) by Dennis at the Church Inn at Millbrook where Cyril was the main guest. Both stayed at the Church overnight and went to bed well oiled and mellow.
