My Dad also sang the Bombin raid every new year. He had been in the Royal Engineers during the war. He was a Dundonian through and through. He also sang a song about a soldier being fleeced of his money by two "flash girls" then committing suicide in his barracks. On this soldier's tombstone was written. Don't go a courtin' flash girls of the city. flash girls of the city were the ruin of me.
