One thing I find very hard to do is give sincere praise and heartfelt appreciation without it coming across as patronising. That is truly an art. I like to thank people and to admire what has been done, but often I wonder if it's being seen as rather over-gracious. One answer is not to say anything in appreciation, but that seems socially mean and cold. I know I personally like to be appreciated (who doesn't) but just how does one express it tactfully and respectfully?
