I no longer watch any American football, except for UCLA games (when not on Pac-12 Network, which is unavailable to me); gotta be true to your school even 50+ years away. There are several reasons: 1) I'm not sure there really is a flesh and blood human being under all the padding and behind the masks. 2) TV has taken over the game. Way to many commercials. Inappropriate time outs. 3) The game has been taken away from the officials on the field. Too many stoppages. Destroys the flow of the game. I would rather an occasional incorrect call than checking disputed plays frame by frame. 4) Reasons 2 (especially) & 3 also apply to college basketball--I have no opinion about NBA, as I have not watched a game in about 30 years. The last game I attended was San Diego Clippers at the now old Sports Arena.
