Brilliant tune, mole in the ground. Perhaps it's just because I'm (so pretty) from the UK, or maybe these names have waned in popularity since, but why Tempie/Capie? Are they/were they common names? Jarrell sings Tempie/Tempy and Lunsford sings Capie. Is there a joke I'm not getting here, or were these names really that common back then in the US? I could understand more if the names were used for the sake of a rhyme, but they're just sort of... there, and to someone coming from a completely different neck of the woods (both space and time wise) they seem very odd. Love it though, of course, 'specially as I think of the song as Tempie, not MITG. Any information regarding the origin/meaning of the lyrics in general would be gratefully received. Shout outs to anyone called Tempie/Capie! Be my wife!
