I was never a fan of The Shadows, at the time, but - in the UK they were hugely influential. Indeed, they were a great way to get into rock guitar. The lead and rhythm parts weren't that difficult to at least work out the notes. But, as I said not my cup of tea! And, I hated their silly dance moves! Far too twee. When the Dutch rock band Focus emerged around 1970, I remember thinking, "Now, That's what the Shadows should have been doing. But there again, I bet Focus's wonderful guitar player Jan Ackerman had listened to Hank quite a bit! Sylvia
