A good example of a misheard traditional ballad in the hands of a composer for a broadside sheet would be "Hannah Le Gordon". Anent "William and Lady Marjorie" if the mores of the time be known there is more information contained in the first verse of this ballad than can be found in many a 10 to 30 verse ballad. No explanation forthcoming from any of the experts as to why this one is not included?
