GUEST,CS Autumnal clearing out and fitness 2014 (318* d) RE: Autumnal clearing out and fitness 2014 21 Sep 14

We're having a bit of a diet spruce-up around here, as well as getting some much needed decorating done.

Mr. was diagnosed with diverticulosis (or little pockets in the colon), he's young to have got these (42) so that's rather unfortunate. Still the good news is that he's embraced a predominantly "plant-based whole-food diet" - not strict vegan, but we're cutting out all red meat, high fat and highly processed foods for him, as according to general mainstream advice those are all bad news for his condition. So it's whole-wheat products like pasta and bread, whole-grain pilafs and salads, bean and vegetable stews and vegetable curries etc. now for him, this is all the kind of stuff I like to cook for myself anyway which is helpful, and in under a week he reports that his pain levels have diminished from a 10 to a 3, which is excellent.

We're also losing a bit of weight, I was anyway as I've been making an effort to minimise added fat, reduce portion sizes and eliminate calorific puds and snacks, but he is now too which has also pleased him as he's put on a bit in recent years.

Bathroom has been painted lavender (though I think it looks a bit marshmallowy to be honest) and the woodwork done in cream. At least it looks fresh now.
