My daughter goes spare when I sing Bird in the Bush, but the minor tune is so achingly beautiful that I can't imagine going major on it. Maybe we need to lose the minor/sad major/happy strait jacket and see the song and tune as a glorious team that helps get the emotional content across, as well as the story.
