Yes - I have never heard anyone say a bad word about Acker. "Strangler On The Shore" was a lucky accident, for which he was obviously very grateful. He always had good bands (I saw him first at Croydon c1958,) including the great Bruce Turner, and made a couple of lovely laid-back albums with Humphrey Lyttelton. Nice lazy vocals, too, and that typical jazz-man's sense of humour. His take in silly song titles included "Trouble Over Bridgwater." Just playing his lovely 1958 version of "Delia Gone".
