Bertha Hill sang this with Louis Armstrong (i'm sure others did too; but there is a version of her singing it in 1927 that's on youtube; I just came across it tonight. Great song! Thanks for transcribing the lyrics; you got a line I couldn't get ("for everyone to leave town" i thought was "for everyone to reach down" which didn't really make sense); however, I think instead of "do you hear this plea" it is "gonna do what it please" Thanks, Heather
