GUEST,Fedele (in the library) BS: Looking for People Search Engines (16) RE: BS: Looking for People Search Engines 04 Jan 01

Well, before asking you all about my problem, I searched a lot but found myself only once!
About Switchboard: it finds more than 100... but just four or 5 of them are Stea, the others are stuff like Steads, Steam... and NONE of those Stea addresses is working.
Dogpile found a lot, but it has a awfully clumsy way of working 'cos it doesn't show the full address, you can just send a message, then you receive a confirmation in your mail, then you got to open it and go back to the site... phewwww....
Familysearch is not very well organized, but I got from it a full family tree. Unfortunately, it's not mine, but maybe the further of my found ancestors could be a relative of the further of those - I think I'd need 2-3 generations more, and I have to check it back.
I'll try the other sites when I have a little bit more of time. Unfortunately, I still got to pay for being on-line; in the library it's free but just for half an hour and I have nothing of the lot of stuff I need when I search- lot of paper, my family tree, the mess I usually keep on the table in my room...
So I'm still looking for e-mail search engines, but also other sites about genealogy would be useful. The few free ones I found by myself before asking you were really messy and chaotic and I found nothing useful.
