Jeremiah is unaware that he was adopted and we feel that now is the time to share that with him. He is old enough to understand and formulate questions. I have seen several adoption story books that parents can use to help ease into the conversation or to explain how an adoption happens but none of them that I have seen fit our situation so I decided to write his story for him. I have a blank book and have added illustrations to make it completely his story. It took some effort and tears to make the story straight forward and concise but on the second draft, I got the flow right and both Pete and I are happy with the results. We are ready for the questions and are feeling good about sharing this with him. I'm a little nervous but that's to be expected. I only want for him to know that he was loved by his birth parents and he is loved, and will forever be loved by us.
