Some years ago my band recorded Jean's song The L & N Don't Stop Here Anymore. I knew that we could record it with the proper clearances from publishers but I sent a message to Jean asking for her permission. I received a great letter in reply. Along with her permission to do the song was a very funny anecdote about Johnny Cash recording the song. Another of my heroes has stepped away.
