Thankyou Bee-Dubya. I'll probably sub some smoked paprika for the bacon. Garlic, black pepper and cayenne should ensure it's not bland. BTW, for those wondering what UK cooks can use to make this US dish I'll be using 'broad beans' which (for those of you from the US) look like this: broad beans As they seem to be the best alternative to green 'lima beans' (what we call 'butter beans' in the UK, but we get them dried or dried and reconstituted instead of green) that we have.
