I have new glasses - and an eye that is aching after having to do some work for a change - the mammogram is done - the new equipment is much less ferocious than the older version, hardly squashes at all. The gooseberries are ripe in the garden - I went out to pick some to cook and just sat and ate them - there's still a lot left, but I think they are too nice to cook. I must go out and give the garden a clearing out - so much has taken root out there, it needs cutting down and dragging out. The rhubarb needs a permanent place to be planted out now it is outgrowing the big pot it has been reared in. First, though, I will get the things ready to go to the Sidmouth Folk festival. I can't afford to hire the van for a week - thanks to the extra pair of glasses I needed to buy, but I can afford six days so it is not too much of a disaster. One day will be taken up with going to visit someone with a knitting machine and bringing part of it back for repair, then unpacking and returning the van, and then probably having a lie down for several days. I am trying to go out walking every day to increase my fitness.
