For any Americans who might be interested in finding out more about Cilla, there was a very entertaining tv biopic movie shown on British tv last year.
I think that it did capture some of the atmosphere of Liverpool in the 60s.
Here's a clip from the film, in a scene where Cilla ( played by the wonderful Sheridan Smith) finds that she's reached the top of the charts.
The movie "Cilla" is available on dvd.

Cilla reaches number one!
