When we were kids, my brother and I would occasionally pool resources in order to buy 2 ozs of sherbert lemons, despite knowing full well that they ripped the roof of your mouth to shreds! Could actually feel with your tongue,the flaps of skin hanging down and wafting..... Hardness of the boiled lemon-flavoured sugar shell, acidic burst of lemony sherbert - and there you go - hanging shreds!
