Aha! Many thanks (if this is appropriate in light of the alarming info I asked for...but you know what I mean) - I kind of knew much of that, but didn't know it 'properly' as, I imagine, most Americans would.

Why does all this happen though? How can people possibly think like this? (Don't worry, just rhetorical - I would imagine, and indeed hope, that noone on the Mudcat can really explain it)
