We used to sing this as a game, in two lines facing each other, singing
Are you ready for a fight we are the English
marching forward to the opposite line
the other line than sang
Yes we're ready for a fight we are the Germans
marched forward, the other line going back.

this was done a couple of times and I cant remember how but a shout went up and we all ran at each other and that was the end of the game.

Went to catholic school in Jarrow.
