Growing up in Salford it was very much as Steve describes above. Since we moved to Yorkshire I haven't seen any penny for the guy but I have even it when we have been back to Salford. In Yorkshire the 4th November is mischief night, where kids traditionally play pranks. Unfortunately it has tended to develop into vandalism night .
