An effective way they teach youngsters in the Suziki method is using words and sylables that relate to rhythm Here are the basic ones.. Quarter note- "ta" 2 eighth notes- "ti ti" a triplet- tri-o-let 4 sixteenth- te-ri-te-ri The most effective way ive found for kids is to have them verbally recite the above rhythm sounds while tapping on a desk or something
