To freespiritceoll: Just wanted to ask you about your friend in Ventura. I am approximately about 3 hours from that area. Does he play all over Southern, California? Is the Hurdy Gurdy a difficult instrument to learn to play for a complete beginner? I first heard the hurdy gurdy when I was in London during the 1980's and heard it being played in a folk club there. I just loved the sound of this beautiful instrument. What is the lowest price you have seen this instrument priced at? Is it risky to buy a 2nd hand one? Thanks.
