It always comes down to one of these, doesn't it? - I need to drive (mainly because the culture in which I live is based on the assumption of universal car ownership). - I like driving - I love my car All of which avoid questioning our car-based, car-obsessed culture and what it is leading to. Remember that cars have only existed for a tiny fraction of human history and a civilisation based around the car cannot be sustainable for many more generations.
